ROSE VALLEY TAVERN

Convenient for booze, bookies and buses, the ‘Valley’ offers a relaxed environment within walking distance of Norwich City’s superb shopping facilities, notably the new Chapelfield development.  More café bar than pub, it’s an ideal spot to chill out with a wide range of freshly ground coffees and an extensive selection of wines, beers and spirits.  As landlord Mike likes to put it, the place offers ‘atmosphere without attitude’ and attracts a broad spectrum of clientele, ranging from students to business people.  There’s plentiful off street parking and also full disabled access and facilities.

Recently redecorated to reflect Mike’s love for Greece, think citrus coloured walls, painted wood and simple furniture, it’s a stylish alternative to the traditional ale house.

There’s a wide range of home cooked food to choose from, whether you’re looking for a light snack to go with your latte, or something more substantial to fuel a night’s partying.

The garden behind the pub plays host to many an event over the year.  Last year’s incredible firework display on New Years Eve is still a topic of conversation for many, a fact that Mike is justifiably proud of.   Inside the pub, pool tournaments with killer ‘knock-out’ matches are a regular draw, as is the IT box that provides internet access for visiting customers.

To sum up, in Mike’s words ‘it’s not a gimmicky pub, just a great place to meet friends, sit back, relax and watch the world go by.’
